BENEFITS OF KNOWING ABOUT LEARNING STYLES

BENEFITS OF KNOWING ABOUT LEARNING STYLES

In my personal opinion, the benefits in knowing our learning style are a lot, but  I will tell you some of them. First of all, I consider that help us increasing our personality, the personality make us feel comfortable of who we are and how we can know at others, because knowing ourselves first is a key to understand others. Also, to be emphatic  because not all the people has the same learning style and I think that as teachers we have to be emphatic with our students and we have to find a way to improve their skills and guide them through the identification of their learning style during the interaction with them, even though the identification of the learning style is not easy. Moreover, I want to say that another one is in knowing our strengths, because help us managing better our brain to work in the development of our skills. for example; to avoid the things that caused distractions when we are trying to have concentration, that could be a way to manage our weaknesses. So, it is really important to know about the learning styles, the identification and the benefits that could give us if we put them into practice.

As we know the communication is through interaction, so interaction is really important in our life in the society. Effectively, another interesting benefit in knowing  our learning style is interacting better with our boss, close friends and family.  First, we can be more efficient in our work by  managing better our brain in the way we work more productively. Also, it could be great for interacting in an excellent way with our friends, for example; some of our friends sometimes don´t understand easily what we are trying to explain them or we don´t understand what they are trying to say to us, but if we know their learning style we could accomplished our purpose easily, like for example if we are given them some important information to remember and we know how they could  perfectly remember it, we will do it in that specific way using the recognized learning style of our friend. Furthermore, we know that in the family is the place where we first identify our strengths and weakness. So, our family understand a little bit how we are, about our likes and dislikes, but almost always they did not care about how we are capable to understand them better and is our labor to maintain that performance. So, it´s important to recognize our learning style to understand ourselves and in this way help at others that are around us.

It is essential for teachers to be aware of the learning styles. The other principal space to develop and identify our strengths and weaknesses is placed in the school, a place where the students spend the other part of the time that is not being spent in home. Indeed, we as teachers have the great labor to guide and help students to identify their learning styles. Because in this way, the teacher will identify the way the students preferred to work. If the teacher create one simple way to perform tasks during the whole year, will be harder for students and they will be frustrated. In the other hand, if the teacher give the students different tasks with a  variety of performance during the whole scholar year, they will be more engaging working with a balance in the development of their skills. All the students will have different learning styles, maybe some of the students will like to listen music and some of them will prefer to read a book or maybe to paint something. So, we have to be careful in the guidance of our students and help them to open a new window to the world in a way that they feel comfortable with and to grow confidence for themselves. To finish, knowing our learning style is really important and help us a lot to understand, interact and guide, not only in academic purposes but also in our daily life.
